Crafting an inviting visual identity for teenagers - The power of understanding target audience taste
I created a visual identity, logo and emoji illustrations for a governmental project offering online help for young girls in order to prevent sexual harassment.
Teenagers, more than any other demographic, crave authenticity and relatability in the brands they engage with. By aligning the visual identity with their tastes and preferences, the brand not only captures their attention but also fosters a sense of belonging and loyalty. In today's hyper-competitive market, capturing the attention of young teenagers is no easy feat. With their discerning tastes and rapidly evolving preferences, creating a visual identity that resonates with this demographic requires careful consideration and strategic planning.
The main challenge of the branding project was finding the right balance of creating an appealing looking visuals that really stand out, without losing the sense of credibility and trust - after all, the brand is all about serious matter of preventing sexual harassment. The most important target of the brand project was to create a visual system that is inviting and encourages teenagers to follow, engage, and get in touch to share their experience.
Drawing inspiration from contemporary culture, social media trends, and the vibrant world of youth subcultures, I crafted a visual identity that exuded energy, authenticity, and relatability. Bold colors, dynamic typography, and playful graphics were employed to create a visually stimulating experience that spoke directly to the sensibilities of teenagers. The visual identity has been a success story and has received vast amount of positive feedback, both from the employees as much as the teenagers.
