Creating a flexible design system for Nuorisoala sub brands.
Nuorisoala is an umbrella organization dedicated to advancing youth work in Finland, encompassing both policy initiatives and youth well-being. It collaborates with several major organizations, including Save the Children. They were facing a problem of having multiple new sub brands and upcoming events without clear visual identity, and for that reason they needed a flexible design system to create sub brands.
For Nuorisoala, we developed a dynamic and adaptable design system built on geometric brand patterns, an expansive color palette, and a structured yet flexible approach to repetition. By layering and combining simple shapes, we created a system that naturally generates new patterns, allowing for diverse applications across branding, merchandise, and digital platforms. This approach ensures Nuorisoala can effortlessly expand its identity, enabling the seamless creation of future sub-brands for events and initiatives while maintaining a cohesive visual language.
Shapes and patterns were developed together with Adria Molins.
